Aino Kallio
Aino Kallio is a Finnish surface designer known for turning everyday Nordic scenery into bold, joyful visual stories. She grew up between the archipelago coast near Turku and long winters spent in a family cabin in central Finland. Her childhood was shaped by pine forests, frozen lakes, folk textiles, berry-picking summers, sauna rituals, and the shifting colors of the northern sky.
After studying visual arts and textile design, Aino developed a style that blends Finnish folk influence with contemporary color-forward pattern design. Rather than using muted Nordic minimalism, she reimagines Finnish culture through energetic palettes and expressive shapes. Her work is designed to feel modern, collectible, and emotionally warm.
She creates art for people who want practical objects to feel personal, artistic, and full of life.
