Frida Lövström
Frida Lövström is a Swedish artist who grew up in northern Sweden chasing northern light through six months of winter. Her paintings are where she found it — and they show it. She works in hyperrealistic acrylic impasto, building every surface with palette knife ridges and sculptural layers of paint, creating bold large-scale florals and botanical still life compositions that fill the canvas edge to edge with no empty space.
Frida trained in fine art and digital visual practices, and over time developed a technique that deliberately collides five centuries of European still life tradition with the interrupted aesthetic of contemporary digital life. Beneath each composition she lays horizontal bands of saturated colour and raw pigment drips, then fractures the surface with glitch-art distortion — treating paint as a medium that can be rewound, interrupted, and broken open without losing any of its physical power.
